FIBA EuroBasket 2025 - the European Championships in basketball - will be organised in four countries: Poland, Finland, Cyprus and Latvia. The group phase is going to be played in August and September 2025 - 24 teams will be divided in four groups. Latvia will be the host of the final phase of the tournament. The Polish National Team will play all the group phase games in Spodek Arena in Katowice.

Currently, qualification games are being played and all of its stages will finish in February 2025. The Polish National Team - as a co-host - is going to play in the main event. In the last FIBA EuroBasket in 2022 our team finished in fourth place. It's the biggest success of Polish basketball since 1967.

In the 21st century, the city of Katowice hosted the European Championships in basketball twice. In 2009, the final phase was played in Spodek Arena. The Spanish team turned out to be the best, defeating Serbia in the final. Two years later, women also competed in Katowice. In the Arena located at Wojciecha Korfantego street, the group phase and the main phase of the European Championships 2011 were played. On June 6, 1999, in Spodek Arena, the Polish National Team achieved the greatest success in the history of women's basketball, winning the European Championship.
