Slash is a rock icon, an accomplished guitarist and composer, and a Grammy Award winner, who has sold over 100 million records. The question of his place in the pantheon of guitarists was best answered by Time – Slash was ranked second on the magazine’s list of the greatest electric guitar virtuosi of all time (with Jimi Hendrix being ranked first).
The guitarist is credited with the iconic records and riffs of Guns N’ Roses’ biggest hits, from ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’ to ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, as well as with the excellent recordings of Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver. His eponymous debut solo album featured vocal performances by Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy, Iggy Pop and Dave Grohl, to name but a few. Can it get any better?
