WE - managing the International Congress Center and Spodek Arena and coordinating over 700 events a year with the participation of over 1 million people, have many opportunities to take actions that reduce the impact on the environment.

BE ECO AT OUR EVENTS!
🌿 Come to the ICC or Spodek Arena by means of public transport or share a car with others.
🌿 Use our reusable eco-cups whenever you buy a beverage.
🌿 Segregate waste – in Spodek Arena and ICC, there are separate rubbish bins for every kind of rubbish.
A policy of responsibility for the natural environment in ICC ans Spodek Arena:
🌿 Green energy – from 2024 Spodek Arena nad ICC are powered by renewable energy. Thanks to renewable energy sources, the annual CO² production in ICC and Spodek Arena is reduced by 5,044,956 kg.
🌿 Reusable eco-cups – from autumn 2024, reusable eco-cups will be introduced for serving drinks during events – thanks to this, we minimize the amount of waste annually (230,000 disposable cups that have not been thrown away, i.e. approximately 1,500 kg of plastic in the form of garbage).
🌿 Rainwater – our greenery around the Spodek and ICC is watered using rainwater stored in retention tanks.
🌿 LED lighting - energy savings of 44% thanks to new LED lamps in multifunctional rooms and arcades at the ICC
🌿 Photovoltaics on the roof of the Spodek ice rink and ICC (2x50 kW) - will allows in the future us to reduce electricity consumption for ventilation units and lighting
🌿 Reduction of CO² emissions related to the ice rink in Spodek reduced by approximately 20% after roof renovation – especially important when freezing ice sheets (approximately 30% reduction in electricity consumption) - and ventilation (approximately 20% increase in the efficiency of the heating system in winter)
🌿 we introduced a heat and electricity management and use optimization system, which allows us to constantly monitor important ambient parameters such as temperature and CO²
🌿 at night, both the Spodek and the ICC are cooled down with low-temperature outdoor air
🌿 we use an astronomical timer to control external lighting
🌿 we have implemented a special process for the monitoring of lighting use
🌿catering operators cooperating with the ICC and the Spodek implement a number of ECO solutions
